Not totally sure.

I Bought crickets and have them there own tank box thing...

Do they need to be killed first/ have legs or head or any body part removed or will my padded tail eat them whole..

Will it take him a while to eat it.... Does he need to get used to it?

Also i tried to put a live one in and it swam around.... is that suppose to happen 0_o

yup, just drop them in the water and your newts will react on it's movement. mine takes crickets about once a week.

The newt should swallow it whole. If the cricket is too big for the newt to swallow, then get smaller crickets.

Crickets are a good source of protein, but have a poor calcium balance. They should not be the newt's primary food source.

If you do plan on feeding your newt a lot of crickets, you should feed the crickets some type of high calcium food, there is a product that I feed my crickets for my leopard gecko called gutload.
