Haploidy/Haploid is a term used to describe the state of having only one set of chromosomes in a cell nucleus. Most animal cells have two sets of chromosomes, with the general exception of the gametes (cells produced for sexual reproduction).

I can't think of any way to tie this in with caudates directly. Do we also have definitions for diploid and polyploid? Polyploidy is very relevant to some salamanders.
