Hi all, thanks for being here when I have questions. I've been lurking for a while and I've certainly learned a ton about axolotls from the forum that way but thought it was finally time I joined officially. Litl-Lotl is our office mascot and I've been his primary caretaker for over 3 years. As he was a rescue we don't know his exact age but we think he's about 9 years old now. I believe he's a wild type but his bright green eyes are my favorite thing! He's an even 12" and loves people, luckily he lives in our front office window and lots of kids love to come look at him so he goes right over and looks back! Unfortunately, he's sick and in the fridge right now so I'll head over to ask questions in the Sick Axolotl forum. Thanks for the add!

sounds like a GFP wildtype! if you haven't already, try shining some blacklight over him to see if he glows!
interested in seeing what he's sick with, i'll be looking out for that thread.
pictures appreciated!!!

I've heard blacklight isn't the best and makes them uncomfortable but his tank light does blue light only and makes his eyes SUPER creepy! We do it every Halloween for the kids. :)

usually light hurts axolotls eyes, but this applies to most all lights, not just blacklight. it's alright to shine a bit of it on him for a few minutes (just to show the kids, for example)
you can get blacklight flashlights for fairly cheap on amazon and similar sites :)
