I live in northern Harford County, Maryland. Does anyone know what I can expect to find in the area or any good places to go herping? I do not know anyone else in my area who is interested in these things. I know of a few streams and wooded areas to hunt through but I can never seem to find anything beyond toads.

Your best bet is to pick up a local guide on herps. This will give you an idea of what kind of habitats you should be looking in to find your target species.

We do not allow people to publicly post locality data here.

I live in Baltimore and have only gone herping a few times in Maryland. Honestly I've not had a tremendous amount of luck as far as caudates go. I've only found one Desmognathus fuscus up around Thurmont and a lot of Eurycea bislineata in the creeks north of the city. Western Maryland seems to have the most numbers and biodiversity, I'd start in the parks there.
