I was wondering if one of these is better to feed to P. Cinerus than the other? I know Hydei is larger, but is still small. what should I order. Is Worm Man a good source, because i have heard people say that it is a good source for other things.

If you just want to BUY fruitflies all the time, get Hydei. But if you want to grow the flies yourself, I'd recommend melanogaster, they are much more hardy and easy to grow.

Also, with melanogaster there is a further choice between flightless and wingless. The flightless flies are a pain to work with because they jump/glide all over the place, and are probably harder for the sals to catch. I go with wingless, even though they produce somewhat less offspring.

I have gotten flies from eBay (the usual precautions for dealing with eBay sellers apply!) and from edsflymeat.com and lfscultures.com, all with good results. I order powdered fly medium from Carolina.com
