can someone please tell me what to do , my axolotl jumped off the tank and has been scrolled inside my room on the rough carpet. I found him in morning on floor. his belly is injured because the carpet was rough. it's been almost 3 weeks but the skin that was almost recovered had been peeled off again. what should I do ?

use 100% holtfreters + 0.2g/l magnesium sulphate in the water whilst healing, if he is being tubbed use glass, pyrex or ceramic rather than glass.
ensure than the water is cold (around 15°c/59°f).

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
