This is a totally self indulgent post, I just wanted to share my lovely lotl's with the world!
Here are Xenophon and Moctozuma when we first got them and they were little tinnies! Xenie-lotl is the leucistic and Moxie-lotl the wild type who is almost impossible to photograph due to his beautiful leopard spots and dark colouring. They have grown so much, as you can see, and I am a super proud axie mum! Xenie is totally greedy and bolshy, I call him Tubby-lotl more often than not. Moxie is a much more dignified creature with a dear little froggy face. He is a beautiful swimmer and it's a real treat when he goes for a cruise around the tank.
Just so everyone knows this is naturally not where they live. The photos are all taken in the plastic bowel they stay in while I clean them out. They are never in there for more than about twenty minutes while I straighten things out in their tank. They have actually just upgraded to a gorgeous four foot tank with their very own ruined Roman temple in the middle! Thanks for humoring me and checking out my babies!

They're beautiful! I can see you're very proud of your little ones :D

Geeeeeeez, look at the gillls on the white one, so fluffy!

Thanks guys, it's so lovely to share! Jinian they are about eight and a half inches now, the wild types colouring is really amazing, his gills do get a gorgeous reddish tint in some lights. Xenie has super fluffy gills, he's like a little raver with a crazy hair cut!

Your post isn't self indulgent at all, its great to be able to have a nose at other people's axies! Those gills are amazing, they put my axies to shame! Is the white one definitely a leucistic? Its gills are a crazy neon pink, its brilliant! I bet they are quite the characters :)

I know what you mean, nothing cheers me up more than a poke round the axolotl picture galleries! I'm very proud of Xenie's gills, they are super frilly! I'm continually amazed by how much character they have, they are such definite little personalities!
