I'm happy to report a new article on Caudata Culture about caecilian husbandry:

Thank you, Dennis Parmley

There is one really great new idea in this article - the use of Carefresh paper bedding for burrowing amphibians. This could prove very useful for fossorial caudates as well!

Which particular Carefresh paper bedding is used? Is it the 'soft paper' in natural color? There are many Carefress paper bedding products.

Yes. I know that the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, KS uses this paper-based bedding for their terrestrial species, and they say it works great!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
