Hello all,
I just started caring for some Eastern Newts. I did buy them online, so I didn't know enough about the sub-species and I've had to learn. I thought that they were Central (N. v. louisianensis) but now I am thinking they are Peninsula newt (N. v. piaropicola). So I thought I would ask some experts.
I have attached two pictures, one to show the stark contrast of the dark ones versus the lighter ones.
I also have assumed that they are wild caught, as I had no luck feeding them freeze dried food as I did when I was a kid and had them long ago. They did take quite well to frozen foods though, both bloodworms and brine shrimp.
thanks for any input,
