This was quick and simple but I really like it...since they like to hide and also are used to narrow spaces from the river environment, I made them this little "condo" out of clay pot bottoms. The bottom one broke in half when I was making the doorway but I glued it back together. (I used silicone glue.)

Are the hidingplaces not too close of each other, for a agressive specie as Pachytriton?

I only have two in the tank (a male and female). I have a lot of hiding places in that tank, five already, and a lot of vegetation. Now I have added this little house. I had in mind that the female could pick whatever one she liked and switch out between them. It's all for her. I am hoping that maybe she'll like one of them enough to lay eggs in...they certainly put on enough of a show, those two...

What imagination leads us to create! lol Look at the pic I did before I got interested and opt for more realistic setups! lol

Dawn,
How is the newlywed suite working out?

I saw the female hanging out in the middle level one day, ran to get my camera, and by the time I got back, she had hidden. But I think she likes it! She can change her apartment like I change my socks.

Here she is hanging out in it as she likes to do. Notice her beau at the door. Her name is Slimy, his name is Soldier.
