Does any one know of any research on limb regeneration that has focused on re-regenerating? i.e. -a limb is removed, grows back then is removed again?

This probably doesn't help at all since I don't have sources, but it should be easy to find. A US researcher clipped the digits of a common species of newt, (firebellies or waltls) I believe once a year for their entire lives, to see how age affected regeneration. He did this for so many years he ended up passing the whole experiment onto his son or a younger protege to continue due to his old age.

This was a newspaper article I stumbled upon maybe last year. It shouldn't be too hard to find, sorry for the vagueness, but it's out there.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
